For lawyers and non-lawyers alike there are numerous opportunities that will arise at the Canadian Bar Association annual convention taking place in Ottawa August 12 -14, 2016.  The conference’s theme is centered on building better lawyers.  Content will be delivered on a number of streams that provide for interactive learning and networking opportunities.  Topics include:

-Financial statement analysis for lawyers

-Technology for lawyers

-Advanced Negotiation Skills

-Mindfulness in Business

-Wellness and Technology Tips

-Duties of Lawyers serving on Boards of Directors

-Ethics debate on wither lawyers should have a monopoly on the provision of legal services

One of the key networking opportunities to showcase the local Ottawa bar and market is the At Home Dinners event where Ottawa lawyers open their homes to lawyers from across the country for an evening of good food and conversation.  It is a great way to meet lawyers from across the continent and to showcase all that we have to offer locally.

ConductLaw intends to participate and invites other lawyers in the Ottawa area to do likewise.  If you are interested in participating or you’d like to talk about the Canadian Bar Association annual convention in Ottawa, feel free to contact J.P.
