Valerie Akujobi

Valerie Akujobi has a general litigation practice and enjoys helping clients achieve desired results. She was called to the Bar in 2017 and acts on behalf of individuals and businesses. Some of her work includes acting for clients on mortgage remedies, commercial disputes, and matrimonial property disputes. Valerie also has a solicitor’s practice and routinely assists with real estate transactions.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Valerie served for nearly a decade as a communications advisor to several government entities and corporations. She strategized on national campaigns and skillfully guided clients and stakeholders through complex issues of public concern.

Valerie graduated on the Dean’s List from the University of Ottawa’s Common Law Program in 2016, winning the Gowling WLG prize for international trade regulation. During her studies, Valerie summered at a national law firm and then clerked for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Based in Ottawa since 2001, Valerie lives in Barrhaven with her husband and children. She is a community volunteer and an avid reader.
